This duplex apartment renovation and design included gutting out an existing 20 year old space and redoing everything including the electrical and plumbing. The client will share the space with a Saint Bernard; her college going children will visit from time to time.
The design, accordingly, incorporates living areas with no walls that open out completely to the backyard. Where required, sliding folding doors have been used to provide enclosure and security, within these areas. A conservatory adjacent to the house, is an integral part of the design.
Natural materials like terracotta tiles, concrete blocks, wood and stone add colour and character to this project.
